The countdown is on, with just one month to go until the 2026/27 Motorpoint Elite League season gets underway.

After a summer of roster building and preparations across the league, teams will begin returning to the ice, with the first pre-season games taking place this weekend as Cardiff Devils host Danish side Odense for two games at the Vindico Arena.
More than 30 pre-season games involving Motorpoint Elite League teams are scheduled over the coming weeks, giving clubs the opportunity to prepare for the new campaign and fans their first chance to see new-look rosters in action.
The pre-season schedule will see EIHL teams face a mixture of domestic and visiting opposition as preparations step up ahead of the opening weekend of the new season.
Two teams will also head overseas for games. Guildford Flames travel to France next weekend to face Cergy-Pontoise, while Belfast Giants will take part in the Warrior Cup in Germany on the final weekend of pre-season.
The 2026/27 season begins in exactly one month’s time, with all 10 teams scheduled to open their campaigns with a weekend of Challenge Cup action.
