WHEELING, W.Va. – The Wheeling Nailers announced the team has signed goaltender Philip Svedebäck to a contract for the 2026-27 season.

The native of Växjö, Sweden was selected by the Boston Bruins in the fourth round (117th overall) of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. Svedebäck had played his entire career in Sweden prior to that, including three seasons of junior hockey with his hometown Växjö Lakers. When Philip first came to North America, he played one season of junior hockey for the United States Hockey League’s Dubuque Fighting Saints in 2021-22, going 15-7-3 with a 2.95 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage in 25 appearances.
