The Silver Knights fell to the Tucson Roadrunners, 3-2 in overtime, at Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson, NV on Sunday evening.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Early into the first period Ben Hemmerling and Lucas Cormier found Jakub Brabenec on the power play to give Henderson an early 1-0 lead.
At the 17-minute mark of the first, Riley McKay stole the puck and won a race against Tucson goaltender Jaxson Stauber to the puck. He then found Matyas Sapovaliv who would bury it into the empty net. In the waning moments of the middle period, Tucson’s Andrew Agozzino would cut the Silver Knights lead to 2-1 with a power play goal.
With less than one minute remaining in the contest, Tucson’s Sammy Walker tied the game at 2-2 with a 6-on-5 goal.
With 30-seconds left in the overtime period Ben McCartney netted the game-winning-goal for the Roadrunners.
