In Dallas Saturday, the Stars picked up a 4-3 overtime win over the Tampa Bay Lightning,
Jamie Benn scored with just over one minute left in the extra session.
The Stars got to overtime because Antoine Roussel had a hat trick to drive the offense in regulation.
“He was in the right place, right time,” Dallas’ Tyler Seguin said. “Always works hard. Always goes to the net hard got rewarded for it tonight.”
The Lightning continue to struggle with an inability to gain any traction this season.
Victor Hedman scored twice and had three points in the loss and Tyler Johnson added a goal for the Bolts.
“At some point we have to get two instead of just one, but I can’t say the guys didn’t leave it all out there,” Tampa head coach Jon Cooper said. “You look at all of the teams coming out of the break and not winning, I thought we gave ourselves every chance to win the game.”
The losers point is not enough for the Bolts to chase down much of anything this late in the season.
With the loss, the Lightning fell to 25-24-8.
Kari Lehtonen made 34 saves for the win as Dallas improved to 23-27-10.

Andrei Vasilevskiy made 24 saves in the Tampa Bay loss.
“Overall, I thought we played a good game. Having a two-goal lead and another one-goal lead, that’s unacceptable, but it’s all about turnovers. That’s how they got their goals,” Johnson said. “That’s how we knew they were going to play coming into it, that they would capitalize on that. They’re an offense that scores a lot of goals. Frankly, turnovers killed us.”
