SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Rampage today announced that forwards Shawn St. Amant and Jake Marchment have been signed to AHL contracts.
St. Amant, 20, rejoins the Rampage after recording three goals and five assists in 28 games during his rookie season with the Silver and Black. He also spent time with the Colorado Eagles (ECHL), registering 28 points (13g/15a) in 35 contests with San Antonio’s ECHL affiliate.
The Le Gardeur, Que., native was reassigned to Colorado on April 13, joining the Eagles for the 2017 Kelly Cup Playoffs. He lent a hand in the Eagles’ first-ever Kelly Cup Championship, contributing 15 points (5g/10a) in 18 playoff games. Before his rookie campaign, the 6-foot, 190-pound left wing spent three seasons with Val d’Or Foreurs (QMJHL), totaling 113 points (46g/67a) in 194 contests.
Marchment, 22, signs with San Antonio after spending the 2016-17 season with the San Jose Barracuda (AHL), Allen Americans (ECHL), and Indy Fuel (ECHL). Los Angeles’ seventh selection (sixth round, 157th overall) in the 2014 NHL Draft combined for 37 points (16g/21a) in 58 ECHL games and appeared in four AHL contests with the Barracuda last year. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound center made his AHL debut on Oct. 15 against the Stockton Heat.
The Ajax, Ont., native split four seasons in the OHL between the Belleville Bulls and Erie Otters, totaling 100 points (45g/55a) in 168 games.
