SAN Jose, Calif. – The Pittsburgh Penguins won the series in only six games, on the road, defeating the San Jose Sharks with a final score of 3-1 at SAP Center. It was the Sharks 25th season, and the run was a dream come true for fans and team-members alike, until the very end. Heart and sole, from both teams, were left on the ice in those final six games. But in the end, the Penguins were the victors, capturing the Cup for their fourth time in their history.
PHN’s photographer, Jack Lima was on hand during San Jose Sharks’ home games for the 2016 Stanley Cup Finals. Typically photographers take hundreds of photos during a game, but many don’t ever make it to print for various reasons. Mr. Lima took nearly 2,500 pictures on this game six night. These are among his favorites, here in this first in a series of the Stanley Cup Final Game Best Shots of the Game from the final game. The aftermath celebration on the ice photos will be posted later this week.
The 2016 season may be over, the memories go on forever.
