MELBOURNE, Australia – In a double-header between Melbourne Mustangs and Canberra Braves, the two clubs managed a split of sorts.
The weekend brace of games produced a narrow one-goal win for the Braves on Sunday after dropping a shootout loss to the Mustangs Saturday.
Canberra needed the points for their ladder position and put some additional distance between themselves and Melbourne.
Through 19 games the Braves are 8-8-1-2 for 28 points; they are tied with Adelaide Adrenaline and just two points back of the Sydney Bears.
As for the Mustangs it is has been a difficult season to date with 16 points in the table and are losing contact with the rest of the pack.
