SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Sharks hit the ice at the SAP Center for a pre-season match against the Arizona Coyotes.
Goals from Brenden Dillon, Joe Pavelski and Joonas Donskoi in each of the three periods helped to put the Sharks on the board.
The only goal by the Coyotes was scored by Antoine Vermette in the second period.
The pre-season game format was followed by an overtime period that vetted the three-on-three format. Ben Smith scored with four seconds remaining. The Sharks took the win for the night, 4-1.
Alex Staylock posted 27 saves for the night, while Coyotes’ Anders Lindback posted 17 saves in the first 31 minutes, and Louis Domingue had 19.
