K-Wings acquire Aidan Sutter from Nailers

KALAMAZOO, MI – The Kalamazoo Wings, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Vancouver Canucks, announced Thursday that they have acquired defenseman Aidan Sutter from the Wheeling Nailers in exchange for defenseman Robby Drazner’s ECHL qualifying-offer rights.

Sutter, 23, is a 5-foot 11-inch, 170-pound, Kamloops, BC native entering his second professional season. The defenseman scored nine points (3g, 6a) in 47 games played with Wheeling in 2025-26. Before completing his rookie season, Sutter played six games with Florida (2023-24) and 17 games with the Nailers (2024-25).

Prior to turning pro, the left-shot played two seasons (2023-25) of collegiate hockey with the Univ. of Calgary (USports), and parts of four seasons (2019-23) with the Everett Silvertips (WHL). With the Silvertips, the defenseman scored 60 points (11g, 49a) in 183 games played.

Kalamazoo will continue releasing player signings until the start of training camp this October. Single-Game tickets and the team’s promotional schedule are slated to release in early September, with the Home Opener scheduled for October 30 at 7 p.m. ET versus the Toledo Walleye.
