PENSACOLA, FL — The Pensacola Ice Flyers announced today that the team has re-signed defenseman Nicholas Aromatario for the 2026–27 season.
Nicholas Aromatario returns to Pensacola after serving as a steady presence on the Ice Flyers’ blue line during the 2025–26 season. The left-shot defenseman appeared in all 58 regular-season games, recording six goals and 12 assists for 18 points while posting a +4 rating. Aromatario provided consistency in all three zones, using his physical play, smart positioning, and puck-moving ability to help anchor the team’s defensive corps throughout the year.
“We’re thrilled to have Nicholas back with the Ice Flyers.” said Head Coach Jeremy Gates. “He brings consistency, has quality puck moving, and skating abilities. Importantly, he’s committed to doing what it takes to help the team win. His experience in our league and familiarity with our expectations and is bought into our standards and culture.”
A native of Woodbridge, Ontario, Aromatario began his professional career with the Peoria Rivermen, where he captured an SPHL Presidents Cup championship before spending time with the Macon Mayhem. After arriving in Pensacola, near the end of the 2024-25 season, he quickly became a dependable member of the Ice Flyers’ defensive unit and earned a spot on the club’s protected list heading into the offseason.
Prior to turning professional, Aromatario played four seasons at the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, alongside fellow Ice Flyers Tyler German and Andrew Poulias, developing into a dependable two-way defenseman known for his hockey IQ and composure under pressure.

The 2026–27 season will mark Aromatario’s third stint with the Ice Flyers organization as he continues to play an important role on Pensacola’s blue line.
