The Newfoundland Growlers win streak ended at three games as they fell 4-0 to the Norfolk Admirals on Friday night at the Norfolk Scope.
Stepan Timofeyev opened the scoring for Norfolk with six minutes left in the first period to give the hosts a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.
Denis Smirnov doubled the Admirals lead 72 seconds into the middle frame with a powerplay snipe over the glove of Dryden McKay to make it 2-0 Norfolk heading into the 3rd.
Blake Murray and Danny Katic struck a minute apart in the early goings of the third to give the Admirals a commanding 4-0 lead.
Cale Morris turned away all 19 shots he faced in the contest to secure a shutout and a 4-0 Norfolk win.
These two teams play the series finale tomorrow evening in Norfolk at 7:35pm NL time.
