Duluth, Ga. – The Atlanta Gladiators, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Nashville Predators and the American Hockey League’s Milwaukee Admirals, announced that the team has signed forward Josh Winquist for the 2026-27 season.

Winquist joins the Gladiators following a season in the Elite Ice Hockey League with the Fife Flyers in which he scored 27 points (11g-16a) in 41 games as one of the team’s alternate captains. His 27 points were tied for the second most among Flyers skaters last season. Winquist returns to the ECHL for the first time since the 2022-23 season where he posted 38 points (12g-26a) in 33 games with the Fort Wayne Komets before playing the next three seasons in Europe.
The 33-year-old brings proven experience and leadership to the lineup, having amassed 234 points (78g-156a) in 227 career ECHL games with the Bakersfield Condors, Orlando Solar Bears, Utah Grizzlies, Toledo Walleye, Wheeling Nailers, Reading Royals, Allen Americans and Fort Wayne Komets.
In addition to his success at the ECHL level, Winquist has consistently produced at the AHL level, scoring 81 points (31g-50a) in 140 games through parts of six seasons with the Oklahoma City Barons, Bakersfield Condors, Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Toronto Marlies, and Rockford IceHogs.
Prior to his professional debut, Winquist played five seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Everett Silvertips, logging 216 points (101g-115a) in 301 games. As one of the team’s alternate captains in his final season in 2013-14, Winquist recorded the second most goals and points by a Silvertips skater in a single season with 47 goals and 93 points in 67 games.
