Farkas agrees to terms with Rush

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Calgary Flames, announced the club has signed goaltender Shane Farkas for the 2026-27 season.

Farkas, 26, completed a four-year collegiate career at Mount Royal University, where he played 76 total games. Farkas finished with a 51-22 career record to go along with a 2.45 goals against average and 11 shutouts. He was named the USports Goaltender of the Year in 2024.

The Penticton, British Columbia native played four years of major junior in the Western Hockey League, split between the Portland Winterhawks and Victoria Royals. Farkas also saw time with the West Kelowna Warriors in the British Columbia Hockey League as a rookie.
