BAKERSFIELD, Calif – The Ontario Reign (19-9-2-1) fell to the Bakersfield Condors (14-13-2-2) 4-0 at Rabobank Arena Saturday evening.
The Condors broke the scoreless tie 12:57 into the second period as forward Jujhar
Khaira found defenseman Jordan Oesterle between the faceoff circles to lift a shot over the glove of Reign goaltender Peter Budaj (L, 29 saves on 33 shots). Moments later, forward Matthew Ford gave the Condors a 2-0 lead with a breakaway goal at 14:53. Late in the frame, Oesterle struck again, this time on the power play, bouncing the puck past Budaj at 17:54.
Forward Kale Kessy completed the game scoring with his sixth goal of the season at 14:26 of the third period. The Reign finished the game 0-for-6 on the power play while the Condors went 1-for-7. Goaltender Eetu Laurikainen earned the shutout, stopping all 30 Reign shots.
