Glasgow Clan took two points from their opening Challenge Cup game, but a late Fife Flyers fightback saw the hosts get a point in a well-contested derby game at Fife Ice Arena.
The home side took the lead just shy of the 13-minute mark as Mika Laranten converted on the powerplay to give the Flyers the lead.
The only goal of the second period came at 24:49 and went the way of the Clan, with a good team effort ending with Deven Sideroff scoring the equaliser.
With just under ten minutes to go in the third, a Juho Rauanen shot went all the way through to put the Clan ahead, followed four and a half minutes later by David Madsen to give Clan a 3-1 lead.
Cameron Hough pulled one back for the Flyers on the powerplay with 4:40 to go, before late drama saw Xander Lamppa redirect a Victor Bjorkung shot to tie the game with 3:02 remaining.
Although Clan came closest, neither side could win the game in the remaining time and both took a point. Both teams had chances to win it in overtime but couldn’t, and so the extra point was decided in a shootout. Tied at two each through five rounds, there were then another five rounds of sudden death before Sideroff scored and Lamppa missed to give Clan the bonus point.
