Blades Split Pair with Trenton

ESTERO, FLa. – The Everblades split a pair with the Trenton Devils in Florida at Germain Arena during Thanksgiving week.   The win brought the Blades up to a record of 10-9-0. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 23rd:     Trenton Devils – 3    /    Florida Everblades – 2     The Blades opened the scoring on Tuesday night during a 5-on-3 power play opportunity.   The ECHLs leading scorer, Mitch Fadden, gave Florida the early lead at 6:26 of the first period.   Assists on the first goal were tallied by Elgin Reid and Francis Lemieux. The Blades kept their lead until the middle of the second period.   That’s when their game started to fail and Trenton capitalized on all opportunities.   The Devils scored three solid goals.   Martin Nolet tied the game at 9:12 with a short-handed goal that seemed to shift the momentum entirely to Trenton.   Ryan Ginand added two more, one at 14:41 and the other at 16:28, to seal the win for the Devils. Florida regrouped and came out stronger in the third, but the three goal deficit was too much to overcome.   Alex Imbeault scored his 13 goal of the season at 3:34 of the final period.   However, Trenton held on to the lead and won 3-2. Florida took the lead early in the first as Matt Pistilli put them on the scoreboard at 5:36.   The score held at 1-0 Florida until the second period.   At 3:44 of the second, new Everblade Jared Staal, of the famous Staal hockey family, earned his first professional goal.   The Blades kept up the solid pressure and added a third tally at 9:28 with a power-play goal by Elgin Reid.   At the end of two, Florida was ahead 3-0. The Blades kept sharp defensively and limited Trenton’s chances at the net.   Florida recorded their first shut-out of the season earned by netminder, Bobby Goepfert.   Florida wins 3-0.
