QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. —Leading the season series between the two teams (3-2), Baie-Comeau won the last confrontation by the score of 5-2. After a scoreless first period while Drakkar had the best over Quebec territorially speaking the home team came out strong on last two periods continuing their domination on scoreboard with two goals in middle frame adding three other in the third. Gabriel Fortier has been the best offensively scoring two goals earning the first star of the game. 
Dominating most of the opening period, Baie-Comeau wasn’t able to put the puck behind Quebec goaltender Dereck Baribeau closing the door making 11 saves.
Quebec’s best moment in the first period came following a major penalty to Matteo Pietronero following an aggression on Quebec forward Mikael Robidoux. Drakkar defenseman was ejected of the game giving Quebec a five minute power play to end the first period and beginning the second one with two minutes left. Quebec had been the beneficiary of two other power plays opportunity but was unable to put puck behind Baie-Comeau goaltender Antoine Samuel.
Beginning the second period with two minutes power plays left on the five earned by Pietronero, Quebec was unable to take advantage of it been 0-in-3 in the beginning of the second period.
After scoreless first period, three goals in 1:34, two in span of 28 seconds gave 2-1 lead Baie-Comeau. Drakkar broke the ice first on great pass by Yavier Bouchard to Noah Corson with 9:13 remaining in middle frame. Corson scored his eight of the year with a wrist shot.
Baie-Comeau came back 28 seconds later adding a second goal. Stationed in the slot uncovered Gabriel Fortier wrist shot left no chance to Quebec netminder with 7:39 left to play in second period.
Quebec replied cutting Baie-Comeau lead to only one goal. The long wrist shot by Etienne Vermette seem to surprise Drakkar netminder Antoine Samuel. Quebec goal seem to give some momentum to the visitor that seem more present in Baie-Comeau zone.
Leading by one to begin the third period, Baie-Comeau came out strong adding two more goals on the scoreboard. Jason Martel beat Quebec goalie Baribeau over his right shoulder only 37 seconds into the period. Already scoring one goal in the game Gabriel Fortier on Drakkar add a second one on a perfect pass from teammate Ivan Cherkhovich at 3:21.
Back from Injury list against Chicoutimi Igor Larionov jr, like Andrew Pico and Mathieu Ayotte, Larionov jr surprised Drakkar netminder with long wrist shot over Samuel left shoulder at 6:24 of the third period cutting home team lead to two goals.
But Shawn Element, the young Baie-Comeau rookie haven’t had same idea, having different scenario when his speed execution took Quebec netminder by surprise beating him on his left side giving back Baie-Comeau their three goal leads at 7:39.
Quebec next game will be next Friday visiting Victoriaville Tigres.
