The countdown is well and truly on: there are now just 50 days to go until the 2026/27 Motorpoint Elite League season gets under way!
All ten teams return to the ice on Saturday 12 September, with five Challenge Cup games opening the new campaign. The action continues with another full schedule on Sunday, including Manchester Storm’s first game at the AO Arena in 24 years as they host Nottingham.
The new season features 270 league games and 54 Challenge Cup group-stage fixtures, with the first league games taking place on Sunday 20 September. The regular-season title race will then continue through to the final round of fixtures on Sunday 4 April.
Belfast Giants begin the campaign as defending league champions, while Nottingham Panthers will look to retain the Challenge Cup after lifting the trophy last season. Cardiff Devils will go into the Playoffs with the target of last year’s success on their backs.
With rosters taking shape, fixtures confirmed and preparations gathering pace across the league, opening weekend is getting closer.
