Justin Soryal returns to Checkers

CHARLOTTE, NC – The Checkers have resigned Justin Soryal to a one-year, one-way American Hockey League contract. The 25 year old fifth year pro from Newmarket, Ontario has scored 15 goals, 20 assists (35 points) and 657 penalty minutes in a 249 AHL career.
Soryal played for the Peterborough Pirates in the Ontario Hockey League. In 2005-6 he helped the Pirates win the OHL Championship. He signed for the New signed for the New ork Rangers n 2008 and then by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2011.
