Checkers suffer first home loss

witnessed the Checkers first home defeat of the season. The Chicago Wolves got revenge for the defeat at the weekend with two goals in the second period from Steve Pinizzotto.
 
Charlotte went ahead iat12.44 of the first period when Chris Terry scored from an assist by Brett Sutter and Bobby Sangunetti. Just over a minute into the second period and Steve Pinizzotto tied the game with assists from Brett Sterling and Chris Tanew.
 
Charlotte looked tired and could not rally themselves in fact they were lucky not to lose the game by more goals. Charlotte did finish strongly however with Zac Dalpe hitting the crossbar and some other efforts going wide of the target.
 
Eddie Lack in the Chicago goal improved to 5-2-0 all-time against the Checkers.

Dan Ellis, in the Charlotte goal had a fantastic game making 41 saves, in the second period he made 18 saves. Then in the third period he came up even larger to keep the Checkers in the game. Ellis has made 35 saves or more three times this season. He also registered a shutout total of 144 minutes over three games and was awarded AHL’s Player of the Week on October 29.
 
Charlotte coach Jeff Daniels decided to give the players a day off on Wednesday so that they will be fresher to face Peoria Rivermen on Thursday evening at Time Warner Arena, 7.00PM face-off.
