PHILADELPHIA – The Flyers’ Trevor Zegras hit for a pair of goals on Tuesday night in a 5-2 win over the visiting Anaheim Ducks.

The Flyers acquired by the Flyers in a trade after last season.
“It was a tough ending for me [in Anaheim],” Zegras said. “I’ve been looking forward to this game for a long time.”
Dan Vladar made 16 saves in the win.
Cutter Gauthier and Alex Killorn s were the Anaheim strikers.
The Ducks have lost seven straight.
“First and foremost, our compete just has to be better,” the Ducks’ Jackson LaCombe said. “That’s just a key that we have to figure out and come together and do. … There’s always areas you can clean up, but I think for us that’s kind of our biggest thing.”
The Ducks took a 1-0 lead early in the first period on Gauthier’s goal
“There was nobody really covering me, so I let it rip,” Gauthier said. “‘Kreids’ had a great screen, so thankfully it went in.”
The Flyers replied with Zegras’ goal of the game, midway through the first, to tie the game, 1-1.
Zegras hit his double just four minutes later for a 2-1 lead to the Flyers. He hit off the power play for the marker.
Cam York pushed the lead to 3-1 with 75 seconds gone in the middle frame.
After killing a major pnelaty, the Ducks surrendered an even strength goal to Travis Sanheim for a 4-1 advantage to Philadelphia.
Killorn made it 4-2 early in the third period.
“We have to be disciplined, for sure,” LaCombe said. “We can’t win hockey games taking (11) penalties, whatever it was.”
The Flyers’ Nikita Grebenkin hit an empty net for the 5-2 final count.
Lukas Dostal made 34 saves in the loss.
