Rosemont, IL-The Chicago Wolves (27-28-5-3) came out hungry for a win against the visiting Rockford IceHogs (34-17-7-4) at the Allstate Arena on a chilly Friday evening.
The game started with a goal by Wolves forward Evan Trupp who put the Wolves on board first with his fifth goal of the season. The Wolves would then put in another goal when center Ivan Barbashev got a rebound and past formerWolves goaltender Drew MacIntyre to make it 2-0 Wolves.
The Wolves would then get another goal at 4:22 in the third period to make it a 3-0 game when Wolves right wing Danny Kristo lets one go from the right circle to put the Wolves up with a comfortable lead.
Rockford would then come back with a goal of their own at 3:05 in third period when defenseman Ville Pokka fired a wrist shot that went through traffic and into the top right corner of the net to put the IceHogs on board.
The Wolves then answered back once more when Evan Trupp would get a second goal of the evening on getting a empty netter with 1:15 to play. .
The Wolves travel out to Rockford Saturday, March 20, 2016 to face Rockford again in the Illinois Lottery Cup contest, puck drop is at 7:00 PM. The Wolves would then travel back to Chicago for a match up against the arch rival Milwaukee Admirals on Sunday for a 3:00 PM puck drop.
