In Anaheim, the Detroit Red Wings’ Dylan Larkin scored with 37 seconds left on the clock in regulation to get even at 3-3 with the Ducks and force extra time.
In the overtime session, Dennis Cholowski to complete the Wings rally for a 4-3 win, their third straight.
“It all happened pretty fast,” Cholowski aaid. “I hopped on the ice, saw a gap in the middle and [Robby Fabbri] gave me a really good pass. Their D-man was kind of back in their zone a little bit, so I figured why not go in and shoot it, and it went in.”
Larkin’s goal came on a 6-on-3 power play after the Ducks had taken a pair of penalties and the goalie pulled for the extra attacker.
Jonathan Bernier made 24 saves to get the win.
Jakob Silfverberg, Josh Mahura and Cam Fowler scored in the middle frame to give the Ducks a 3-2 lead heading to the third period.
“We put ourselves in a tough position,” Silfverberg said. “It’s never a good sign when you have to kill off a 6-on-3 at the end of the game.”
Filip Hronek and Andreas Athanasiou potted goal in the second period for Detroit.
“I thought we controlled the game for the better part of that game,” Ducks defenseman Erik Gudbranson said. “I thought we did the right things and kind of established our game again. That’s something to built off of.”

Ryan Miller made 32 saves in the loss.
“Through the first two periods, I thought we were playing fairly good,” Ducks coach Dallas Eakins said. “I thought in the first, we really pulled everyone into the fight. I thought we were playing an excellent, excellent game.”
