The Spitfires were on the wrong side of an overtime decision, ending their 9 game winning streak. A close battle throughout turned into a wild 59 seconds, sending this one to OT and London scoring in 25 seconds.

In the first period, it was the Knights scoring first, just under three minutes in. Just four minutes later, the Spitfires would respond. Abraham got the puck on the side boards and he sent it down low to Harrison who passed it in front to Christopoulos and he would score his 38th of the season. The Spitfires would have a 12-10 shot lead after the period.
In the second period, both teams failed to capitalize on a powerplay chance in the first 7 minutes. Both teams could not score and the game remained 1-1 after 40 minutes. The Knights had 10 shots for a 2 period total of 20 and the Spitfires had 5 for a two period total of 17.
In the third period, the Spitfires would take an early lead just under 3 minutes in. Dionicio made a nice solo effort into the Knights zone and towards the goal before sliding a pass to Peer back door for his 18th goal of the season and a 2-1 lead. In the final 5 minutes and 20 seconds, the game would get crazy. The Spitfires had a golden opportunity to cash in on a powerplay but instead the Knights would score shorthanded to tie the game at 2. Just 24 seconds later Renwick would respond with a snipe on the powerplay to restore the 1 goal lead. Just 15 seconds later the Knights would tie it back up again at 3. The Spitfires had a late powerplay and could not convert. This game was headed to overtime.
In the overtime frame, the Knights would win possession off the faceoff and would convert on a pass in front of the net just 25 seconds in to beat the Spitfires 4-3 and end their streak.
The Spitfires are back in action on the road in Peterborough on Thursday. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05pm.
