Wild thrashed by Wolves, 5-0

IOWA SHUT OUT 5-0 BY CHICAGO

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Chicago Wolves shut out the Iowa Wild 5-0 at Casey’s Center on Wednesday night.

Noah Philp hammered a one-timer past Cal Petersen (17 saves) from the slot 2:10 into the game to put Chicago ahead 1-0.

The Wild outshot the Wolves 17-6 in the opening frame.

Skyler Brind’Amour tipped Ronan Seeley’s point shot through Petersen 43 seconds into the second period.

Philp walked to the hash marks and scored with 17 seconds remaining in the period to extend Chicago’s lead to three goals.

Iowa outshot Chicago 27-18 through 40 minutes.

Bradly Nadeau and Evan Vierling scored at 5:13 and 6:54 of the third period for the Wolves.

William Rousseau replaced Petersen for the final 13:06 and stopped all three Chicago shots he faced.

Iowa outshot Chicago 30-25. The Wild and Wolves both finished 0-for-2 on the power play.
