Wild rush past Vancouver, 6-2

In St Paul, Thursday, it was a six-pack for the Minnesota Wild as six different skaters had strikes in a 6-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks.

Charlie CoyleNino Niederreiter and Mikko Koivu scored to help the Wild build a 3=- lead.

“I thought we came out and we did the right things from the start,” Coyle said. “You simplify it from the start, and it makes it easy to get to your game. Play down there, you get confidence and the puck goes in, all of the sudden, you get another bounce and it’s 2-0, you feel good, and you keep going from there.”

Eric StaalJ.T. Brown and Jason Zucker also scored for Minnesota.

“Well, you like to score six goals. I didn’t think we were at the top of our game, but I think [the Canucks] looked very tired, like they were wanting to get home,” Wild head coach Bruce Boudreau said. “The whole message was if we could come out in the first period and get a lead on them, they would just would just want to go home. They tried right to the end, but a lot of it their heart was a little down.”

Devan Dubnyk made 25 saves to get the win.

Bo Horvat and Markus Granlund scored for the Canucks who have now list four straight and ended a miserable road trip at 1-3-2.

“I thought we came out with some energy,” Horvat said. “We knew it was going to be the last game of the road trip and knew they were going to come hard. I think they got a couple right away, and I think that kind of took the wind out of our sails a little bit and we just didn’t do the right things to get the job done tonight.”

Vancouver dropped to 10-9-2 while the Wild improved to 12-5-2.
