A two-goal third period sent the Minnesota Wild to a 3-1 over the Arizona Coyotes in Glendale Saturday.
The Wild offense was courtesy of goals from Marcus Foligno, Nino Niederreiter, and Eric Staal.
The win pushed the Wild to a record of 41-24-7 and give them a five-point cushion for third place in the Central Division.
“It was a worry of mine all day,” Wild coach Bruce Boudreau said. “An earlier game coming off that emotional game from last night, and a back-to-back to boot against a team we haven’t beaten.
“In the third period, we did a really good job.”
Devan Dubnyk made 30 saves to pick up the win.
Clayton Keller scored the lone goal for the Coyotes.
“It was a good effort,” Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet said. “We’re getting some chances. I don’t think we’re getting enough net-front [presence]. That’s something over the summer we’ve got to start to find. We need people who can go to the net.”

Antti Raanta made 30 saves in taking the loss as the Coyotes dropped to 23-37-11.
“We know how important every game is going to be here down the stretch. We didn’t play the way we wanted to play but overall, at the end of the day, we got the win,” the Wild’ Nino Niederreiter said after the win.
