Wichita Thunder hosting Kansas City Chiefs legend tonight

WICHITA, Kan. – In celebration of the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl win over the Philadelphia Eagles last month, the Wichita Thunder announced that a special guest will be in attendance at tonight’s game with the Kansas City Mavericks at Intrust Bank Arena.

Christian Okoye, nicknamed “The Nigerian Nightmare” was a force for the Chiefs at running back for six seasons, amassing 4,897 rushing yards and 40 touchdowns. When he retired in 1993, he was the all-time rushing leader for the storied franchise.

The Thunder are offering a VIP package for fans, which for $40 includes a ticket, a meet and greet, and a photo opportunity with Okoye.

For those who already have game tickets, the team says add-on packages will be available at the fan relations table behind section 120 for an additional $20.

Opening face off is set for 7:05 PM, while the meet and greet will take place on the ice immediately following the conclusion of the game.

In a video shared on the Thunder website, Okoye said he is looking forward to meeting some Chiefs fans in Wichita.
