Wichita suffers OT loss to Tulsa

WICHITA, KS – Garrett Ladd scored a minute into overtime and propelled Tulsa to a 2-1 win on Tuesday night at INTRUST Bank Arena.

David Friedmann scored his 13th of the season and Scott Greenham made 30 saves in the losing effort.

The Oilers grabbed an early lead when Shawn Bates intercepted a pass in the slot and beat Greenham with a slap shot at 3:47. Friedmann tied the game as he stole pass near the Tulsa line, skated down all alone and beat Jonah Imoo with a wrist shot at 12:23.

Greenham and Imoo settled in and held the opposing offenses at bay through the next 40 minutes.

In the extra session, Ladd caught a head-man pass from Chris Joyaux and snapped a wrist shot past Greenham on a breakaway to help the Oilers to a 2-1 victory.

The two goaltenders saw a combined-63 shots on net. Greenham takes the overtime loss, stopping 30 of 32. Imoo earned his first win in an Oilers uniform, stopping 28 of 29 shots he faced.

Wichita went 0-for-1 on the power play while Tulsa was 0-for-1 on the man advantage.

The Thunder heads to Allen Wednesday night take on the Americans starting at 7:05 p.m.
