Noah Beck and Michal Stinil led the way for the Thunder with each recording two points. Matt Davis suffered the loss, stopping 30 shots.

With the win, the Steelheads extended their point streak to seven games while the Thunder’s streak is stopped at five.

Brendan Hoffman opened the scoring just 3:21 into the contest. He found some room in the right circle and fired a one-timer past Davis.

Wichita answered with back-to-back power play markers just over three minutes apart in the second.

Bates tied the game at 6:10, tallying his seventh of the year. The Thunder created good movement in the offensive zone, allowing Stinil to feed Bates at the top of the right circle. He blasted a one-timer past Ben Kraws to make it 1-1.

At 9:32, Beck gave Wichita a 2-1 advantage. He battled for a rebound after getting knocked down across the slot. Beck put home a backhand for his sixth of the season on the man advantage.

Late in the second, Nick Nardecchia and Lucas Vanroboys were assessed minor penalties, which gave Idaho a two-man advantage that carried over into the third.

The Steelheads tied the game at 34 seconds of the final frame. Kirby Proctor blocked a shot at the edge of the left circle. The puck bounced right to Robbie Holmes, who fired it past Davis to make it 2-2.

At 8:50, Francesco Arcuri recorded the eventual game-winner to make it 3-2. He beat a Thunder defenseman to a loose puck in the slot and put home a rebound for his seventh of the year.

Wichita had three late power plays in the third and had a brief six-on-four opportunity with 1:27 left in the game. Vanroboys was called for a cross check off a faceoff and nullified the two-man opportunity.

Davis was lifted twice in the final minute. Kyle Crnkovic nearly tied it with 20 seconds left, but his shot from the slot hit the cross bar and the game ended.

With the loss, the Thunder’s point streak is stopped at five games. The Thunder fell at home in regulation for the first time since November 12.

Beck extended his point streak to four games, collecting eight over that span (1g, 7a). Stinil returned for the first time since serving a five-game suspension, adding two helpers. Dickman recorded an assist, giving him three in his last two games and is now just two shy of 200 ECHL assists in his career.

Wichita went 2-for-7 on the power play. Idaho was 1-for-5 on the man advantage.

The Thunder heads on the road next Wednesday to begin a three-game series against Tahoe.
