Wichita adds Bronte

WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s San Jose Sharks and American Hockey League’s San Jose Barracuda, announced the signing of forward Tyrone Bronte for the 2025-26 season.Action photo of Tyrone Bronte

Bronte, 26, returns to North America after spending his first year as a pro in Europe. A native of Melbourne, Australia, he played the majority of the season for KHL Sisak (AlpsHL) where he racked up 48 points (15g-33a) in 40 games. He also had 17 points (7g-10a) in seven games with KHL Sisak (Croatia). Bronte also played 17 games with the Australian Ice Hockey League’s Melbourne Ice, collecting 38 points (20g-18a).

Prior to his time overseas, Bronte began his college career at the University of Alabama-Huntsville. He transferred to Michigan Tech University for his final three seasons of eligibility. Bronte’s best year came during his senior campaign in 2023-24, when he tallied 14 points (6g-8a) in 35 games. In 2020-21, he was named to the WCHA All-Rookie Team and earned a CCHA title in 2023-24.
