READING, PA – With the 2010 Memorial Cup tournament being held in their own back yard, and an automatic bid into the tourney already secured, you would think that the Brandon Wheat Kings wouldn’t have as much motivation as any of the other three remaining teams left in the WHL playoffs. Well, don’t tell the Calgary Hitmen that. So far their Eastern Conference finals have been a tightly contested series. In fact, both conference finals are tied at 1-1 with Vancouver and Tri-City battling it out in the Western Conference finals.
Both series will resume Tuesday night when they move to Brandon and Vancouver. In the OHL, the Barrie Colts and Kitchener Rangers are up in their respective OHL Conference finals while St. John and Moncton are up in the QMJHL finals.
