HAMILTON—Chris Porter scored twice as the Whitby Dunlops defeated the Hamilton Steelhawks 5-1 in the seventh and deciding game of the 2019 Allan Cup Hockey semifinal tonight in the Whitby Iroquois Sports Centre.
Whitby won the series 4-3 in games, and for the record, the home team won each game it played host to.
In addition to Porter, Kevin George, and Kyle Musselman paced the Whitby attack with a goal and an assist each. Darren Doherty had the other goal. Bryan Cameron replied for Hamilton on a play set up by Taylor Carnevale.
The Dunlops and the Stoney Creek Generals will now meet in the best-of-seven ACH final. The winner of the ACH championship will advance to the Allan Cup Hockey Tournament which will begin on Monday, April 8th and conclude on Saturday, April 13th in Lacombe, Alberta. The Allan Cup, Canadian Means AAA Hockey Championship is being hosted by the Lacombe Generals.
