With all of the group stage Challenge Cup games behind us, attention turns to the League for the next month for teams across the Elite League.
On completion of the Group Stage of the Cup, we know the following things:
- Sheffield Steelers won Group A to qualify for the Semi-Finals
- The Steelers are also the top overall seed after securing the highest win percentage in the Group Stage
- Belfast Giants won Group B to qualify for the Semi-Finals
- Coventry Blaze came second in Group A to qualify for the Semi-Finals
- Glasgow Clan placed second in Group B, putting them into the Elimination Game
- Nottingham Panthers placed third Group A, putting them into the Elimination Game
Elimination Game
The Elimination game is scheuled for Wednesday 17 December in Glasgow, with faceoff at 19:30. As the team with the higher Win % from the Group Stage, Clan get to play this game at home and have last chance.
Semi-Finals
As detailed in the format change, the Semi-Finals are seeded based on teams’ win percentages. As group winners, Sheffield and Belfast are #1 and #2.
The seeding for places #3 and #4 will only be known after the Elimination Game. Coventry Blaze ended the Group Stage with 60%, Glasgow Clan 67% and Nottingham Panthers 60%.
Therefore, if the Clan win, they will be ranked #3 and Coventry #4. If Nottingham come through that game, they’ll be ranked #4 and Coventry #3.
The Semi-Finals are scheduled in for February 2026.
