Weller-Evans’ return fills Herd’s side for season

BASINGSTOKE UK: The Bison have complete their Herd for the forthcoming defence of their EPL crown with the re-signing of British back-up netminder Dan Weller-Evans.

The 22-year-old Welsh born shot stopper is back for a third campaign.

In this first season with the team he played three games in the English Challenge Cup and returned impressive stats of 0.50 GAA and a 91.4200px-LogoBasingstokeBison

Last season, Weller-Evans played in five league games, including sharing a shut-out with import nettie Jon Baston.

He finished the year with a 2.36 GAA and had a 86.8 SVS%.

“It is a very difficult job being the team’s back-up goalie and Dan does the job really well so I am really pleased to have him back for another season,” said head coach Doug Sheppard.

With the signing of Weller-Evans completes the Bison roster which on paper is their strongest ever for an EPL campaign.

So they will have a very good crack at defending their league championships with Milton Keynes, Guildford and Teford likely to be their rivals for the title.

“I am very happy with the way the team has come together and we are certainly deep down the centre which is think is great. Losing Joe Greener was a major loss, but I feel we built a team which can contend for trophies this season,” said Sheppard.

The Bison’s first league game is against Telford on September 10,  but before this they have four pre-season games against Swindon and Guildford to get themselves ready.

The first game is on the road at Swindon on August 31.
