The United States Hockey League announced the CCM Forward, Defenseman and Goaltender of the Week for Week 13 of the 2015-16 season. NHL Central Scouting listed defenseman Cam Lee won his first honor of the year, while former Clark Cup Champion continued his recent dominance. Madison’s Sam McCormick capped of the weekend with six points in two games. CCM Hockey is the official equipment partner of the USHL.
Sam McCormick – Madison Capitols
2 GP: 3 goals, 3 assists, Even rating
McCormick scored back-to-back three-point nights over the weekend, leading the Capitols to a 2-0-0-0 weekend. The De Pere, WI native now has five multi-point performances and leads Madison in scoring with 20 points and 11 goals. McCormick scored 31 points and 15 goals last season with the Capitols, and had just three multi-point games last season. McCormick is committed to Ohio State University and previously played for the Sioux City Musketeers (USHL), Notre Dame Academy (USHS) and Team Wisconsin (USHS).
Cameron Lee – Green Bay Gamblers
2 GP: 2 goals, 1 assists, +1 rating
Lee scored goals in back-to-back games and ended the weekend with a +2 rating. Lee’s current two-game goal scoring streak is one game shy of his previous career high he set last season. The second year NHL Draft-eligible defenseman leads Green Bay in scoring from the blue line, and is fifth in scoring by USHL defensemen. The Nova Scotia native is committed to play college hockey at Providence College, and was twice named to NHL Central Scouting Watch list this season. Lee previously played for the Lincoln Stars (USHL), Northwood School (USHS) and Cardigan Mountain School.
Stefanos Lekkas – Sioux Falls Stampede
1-0-0-0, 1.00 GAA and .971 SV%
Lekkas stopped 33 of 34 shots to earn his fourth consecutive start in net. In his last three starts, Lekkas has allowed just two goals on 106 shots. Lekkas is tied for third best save percentage in the USHL (.925 SV%), and is only the fifth goaltender to reach 10 wins on the year. The Elburn, IL native is committed to play college hockey at the University of Vermont. Lekkas won a Clark Cup Championship with the Stampede last season, and previously played for the Springfield Jr. Blues (NAHL), Chicago Mission (HPHL) and Team Illinois (T1EHL).
