TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo Walleye defeated the Atlanta Gladiators 5-1 at home on Saturday night. Matej Machovsky stopped 19 of 20 shots and is now 3-4-0-1 on the season. The Walleye are now 16-7-2-1 on the season and 8-3-0 at home.
Kyle Bonis opened the scoring at 5:17 of the second period on the power play to give the Walleye a 1-0 lead. The Gladiators tied the game 1-1 at 14:20 of the second. Tyler Barnes gave the Walleye a 2-1 lead at 15:40 of the second. The Walleye extended their lead to 3-1 at 17:30 of the second with a goal by Simon Denis. Dylan Sadowy gave the Walleye a 4-1 lead at 18:52 of the second.
Parker Reno gave the Walleye a 5-1 lead at 17:54 of the third period.
