Walleye stay hot at home with win over Mavericks

(Toledo, OH) – The Walleye defeated the Mavericks 6-1 on Saturday night in Toledo. Matej Machovsky stopped 21 of 22 shots to improve to 6-6-0-1 on the season. The Walleye are 23-10-2-1 on the season and 14-4-0 at home.

Connor Crisp scored at 8:33 of the first period to give the Walleye a 1-0 lead. Kansas City tied the game 1-1 at 15:04 of the first with a power play goal. Christian Hilbrich gave the Walleye a 2-1 lead at 13:13 of the first. Erik Bradford scored at 15:22 of the first.

Hilbrich scored his second of the game on the power play just 52 seconds into the second period to give the Walleye a 4-1 lead.

Crisp scored his second of the game just 1:04 of the third period to give the Walleye a 5-1 lead. Kevin Gibson gave the Walleye a 6-1 lead at 10:19 of the third.

The Walleye are home Sunday for a 5:15 p.m. puck drop against the Cyclones.
