INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Toledo Walleye bested the Indy Fuel by a score of 4-1 in Indianapolis on Tuesday night. Goaltender Matej Machovsky stopped 29 of 30 shots for his first win of the season.
The Walleye opened the scoring at 4:12 of the first with a goal by Mike Borkowski. Borkowski continues his hot streak with his fourth goal in two games.
The Walleye would extend their lead 2-0 at 10:25 of the second with a goal by Charlie O’Connor.
Indy would pull within one at 2:53, making it a 2-1 game. Toledo regained a two goal lead with a goal from Christian Hilbrich at 9:17 of the third, making it a 3-1 game. Toledo extended their lead with a goal by Austen Brassard to make it a 4-1 game. The score was Brassard’s first goal of the season.
Fish Tales: Machovsky stopped 29 of 30 shots and is now 1-1 on the season… The Walleye are at home Thursday for a 10:35 a.m. puck drop against Fort Wayne. They play Saturday at home against Cincinnati… Toledo is now 17-1-1 against the Fuel and improves to 8-2-2 on the season.
