Walleye, Matthew Berry agree to contract for 21-22 season

TOLEDO, OH – Forward Matthew Berry has agreed to terms with the Toledo Walleye for the 2021-22 season.Berry, a native of Canton, Michiagn, has been a force over five ECHL seasons with Utah, Florida and Kalamazoo with 165 points (67 goals-98 assists) in 171 career contests. The 29-year-old’s best season came with the Everblades in 2016-17 campaign when he tallied 68 points (24 goals-44 assists) in 70 games while adding 12 points (5 goals-7 assists) in 11 postseason contests that season. also has 22 points (7 goals-15 assists) in 62 career American Hockey League games. Berry also has 22 points (7 goals-15 assists) in 62 career American Hockey League games with Norfolk and San Diego.

Prior to pro career, Berry spent four seasons at Michigan State University where he had 96 points (48 goals-48 assists) in 130 career games. In 2014-15, he landed on the Honorable Mention All-Star team for the Big 10 while as a senior when he posted a team-leading 29 points (12 goals-17 assists) in 29 contests.
