Victoriaville secure first win against Quebec Lauzon ends game with three points

QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. —Losing their first two confrontations against Quebec, Victoriaville won over Quebec for the first time in 2017-18. Scoring their six goals on only 16 shots Tigres won 6-2 against the Remparts. Victoriaville captain Felix Lauzon earned first star of the game ending with three points two of them were goals.

Victoriaville drew first blood in the game with two goals in 12 seconds leading 2-0 after first period. Chase Harwaell was the first to beat Quebec goaltender Dreck Baribeau on his left side with 9:01 gone in the initial period.

Tigres came back with their second goal in 12 seconds. Being beaten on his left side on first goal, James Phelan beat Quebec goalie with precise long shot on Baribeau left side at 9:13.

Quebec best chance came on breakaway from Mikael Robidoux but Victoriaville goaltender Tristan Cote-Cazenave made the save preventing Quebec to open the scoring.

Victoriaville shot only four times on Baribeau scoring on two of them.

Victoriaville continued their domination on the scoreboard adding three more goals in second period as allowing only one goal to visitors. Playing in shorthanded situation following a penalty to teammate Chase Harwell, Felix Lauzon took advantage of a confusion in Quebec territory to give a 3-0 lead to Tigres with a shorthanded goal at 5:13 of middle frame.

Quebec broke the ice with their only goal in the game up to that point with Mikael Robidoux beating Victoriaville netminder between Cote-Cazenave pads 36 seconds after Victoriaville shorthanded goal.

Victoriaville added two more in 37 seconds to regain their three goals lead. Already getting an assist on Victoriaville first goal Tigres defenseman and former Quebec Remparts Vincent Lenoue scored his third of the year at 11:14.

Ivan Koserenkov made the score 5-1 Victoriaville scoring on power play at 11:51. That fifth goals signified the end for Quebec starting goalie Dereck Baribeau who allowed five goals on 10 shots.

Recently acquired on December 12-2017 from Acadie-Bathurst for Liam Leonard goaltender Domink Tmej came in at 11:51 in second periods.

Quebec stepped on the ice playing much better in first half of third period as Louis-Filip Cote scored Quebec second goal with only 51 seconds gone in third periods.

Already scoring Victoriaville third goal, Tigres captain welcomed Quebec new goaltender scoring Tigres sixth goal, his second of the game beating Tmej over his left shoulder at 7:11.

Quebec will be back home on Saturday afternoon hosting Baie-Comeau Drakkar.
