Victoria leads series 2-1

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Victoria Salmon Kings defeated the Condors at the Rabobank Arena before 5,603 fans, to take game three with a final score of 3-1.   In the come-from-behind win, the Salmon Kings lead the Condors in the National Conference Quarter finals 2-1

Victoria’s net minder Matt Keetley gave a great show in the first and second period as he stopped everything the Condors had to throw at him, saving 13 in the first and 18 in the second period.   The Condor’s defense limited shots on goal to four and nine, in each of the first two periods respectively.

The first goal of the night was at 7:18 into the third period, a feed from Condor’s MacGregor Sharp to Kyle Calder went past Keetley.   A penalty on Evan Stoflet for slashing, gave the Kings the man advantage, which they monopolized on, with a goal by Chad Painchaud at 11:22, to even the score.   The go-ahead goal for the Kings came at 17:27 with a shot that past Timo Pielmeier from Jimmy Sharrow.   The empty net goal with fourteen seconds remaining, by Eric Walsky would put the Kings up 3-1 for the final score.

The Condors face a must win situation going into game four on Sunday, April 11, at the Rabobank arena.   If game five is necessary, it will be Monday, April 12.
