Veideman scores twice, Levine registers 20-save shutout in 4-0 Eagles win over Thunder

LOVELAND, Colo. – The Colorado Eagles beat the Wichita thunder 4-0 on Teddy Bear Toss Night at the Budweiser Events Center on Saturday. Adrian Veideman scored two goals, Trent Daavettia registered three assists and goaltender Eric Levine picked up his first career ECHL shutout on the night.

It would be Veideman to send thousands of bears flying as he scored his first goal of the season from the point on the powerplay to make it 1-0 Eagles at the 15:49 mark of the first period. It would be a one-goal advantage that Colorado would take into the first intermission.

The Eagles came on strong in the second period. Veideman gave the Eagles a 2-0 lead, scoring his second goal of the night at the 5:13 mark of the second period on a feed in the slot from forward Trent Daavettila.

Just minutes later at the 13:38 mark of the period, defenseman Jake Marto slid across the slot and wristed a shot top-shelf to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead.

Two minutes after Marto’s goal, forward Joe Zarbo picked up his second goal in two nights on a shot from between the circles with 4:35 to play giving the Eagles a 4-0 lead.

The Eagles held on in the third period, as neither team found the back of the net, setting up the Eagles to win it 4-0. Levine picked up 20 saves in his first shutout in the ECHL and third win in three nights with Colorado.

Colorado returns to the Budweiser Events Center on Wednesday, December 16th when they play host to the defending ECHL Champion Allen Americans at 7:05pm.
