In Las Vegas, Steve Stamkos scored off the power play on Tuesday night to to complete a Tampa Bay Lightning rally from a two-goal deficit and 4-3 win over the Golden Knights. 
“It certainly wasn’t the recipe that we want to continue,” Stamkos said. “But given the circumstances, and what’s gone on here the past week … we found a way to win a game that we probably shouldn’t have, and we’ll certainly take it.”
Andrei Vasilevskiy made 38 saves in the Bolts win.
“It was probably coming at any moment with what’s been going on around the league,” Stamkos said of Cooper going into protocol. “Vegas got hit today. We got hit with our coach. Things are going to change hour by hour.”
Tampa Bay improved to 20-6-4.
Mark Stone hit for a pair of goals in the Vegas loss.
“It’s disappointing not to win. I thought we put a lot of effort and work in that game,” Vegas head coach Peter DeBoer said. “I’m proud of our group. We’ve been dealt adversity since Day One. We haven’t made excuses.”
The Golden Knights had their five-game winning streak snapped.
“That was tough. I thought we had a solid second period. We just let it slip in the final two minutes,” Vegas’ Shea Theodore said. “We all know they’re going to play hard, and we have to be a little more ready for that.”
Nicolas Roy added a single marker for the Knights, his goal gave them a 3-1 lead in the middle frame.
Gabriel Fortier, Anthony Cirelli, and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare also scored for Tampa Bay.
Laurent Brossoit made 15 saves in the Vegas loss.
