Some of the Vegas magic from last season has returned to the Golden Knights. On Sunday night, they hosted the Dallas Stars and skated off with their eighth win in the last 10 games, 4-2.
Ryan Carpenter, William Karlsson, Alex Tuch, and Reilly Smith scored for the Knights who improved to 17-14-1.
“I thought all 20 guys came in and played really hard and it showed on the score sheet,” Tuch said.

Marc-Andre Fleury made 22 saves to get the win.
“It was good to win. We came out strong. I think the guys played well,” said Fleury, who got the start despite allowing five goals in a 5-1 loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday. “… It was not a good game for anyone on the team and it was good that we got to put it behind us quickly, came home and got a good win against a good team.”
Martin Hanzal and Esa Lindell scored for the Stars.
Dallas dropped to 16-11-3 with the loss.
“I’m a little concerned right now because our energy and emotion the last two games hasn’t been there,” Dallas head coach Jim Montgomery said. “We were consistently playing with emotion and energy and a lot of competitiveness, which comes with those two qualities, and in the last two games, we haven’t had that.”
Fleury has started 10 straight games for the Knights.
“It was just a good team game,” Fleury said. “I think everyone contributes to our success. Forwards playing well, backchecking hard, the defense being in their face not giving [Dallas’ top line] too much room because they have good shots, good hands. It was a good team effort to shut them down.”

Ben Bishop made 24 saves in the loss.
“Our details weren’t great. We really wanted to break the puck out well, we wanted to block out in our net front. They go to the net really hard and they got a couple of goals because of it, so we didn’t do our job there, and our forecheck was nonexistent,” Montgomery said.
