In Las Vegas Sunday, Jonathan Marchessault struck midway through extra time to give the Golden Knights a 4-3 win over the Ottawa Senators.
Obviously, I was excited,” Marchessault said. “But as a group, we needed that game before going on [a two-game road trip].”
Marc-Andre Fleury made 19 saves in the win.

Alex Tuch had two goals and Ryan Reaves added a single marker in regulation for Vegas.
“[Tuch] is an important player within our team and we missed him when he was out,” Knights head coach Gerard Gallant said. “I thought tonight he really skated well. … He made an end-to-end rush that was an outstanding goal. It made everybody excited. It made our fans really excited and I know the guys on our bench were pretty happy.”
Vegas set a team record with 53 shots on goal.
“We had a ton of shots and a ton of chances early on in the game and nothing was going in,” Gallant said. “We just stuck with it, kept working hard, and I thought we played an excellent game.”
Matt Duchene, Bobby Ryan and Ryan Dzingel scored for the Senators.

Craig Anderson made 49 saves in the loss.
“You’ve got to give them credit,” Ottawa’s Thomas Chabot said. “They played a really good game. They put a lot of pucks on net and, obviously, it’s a good thing we had [Anderson] in between the pipes. I think he did an amazing, unbelievable job.”
