Vegas cooled by Pens

In Las Vegas, the Pittsburgh Penguins handed the Golden Knights a 4-3 set back to snap their four-game win streak on Tuesday night.

Tristan Jarry made 31 saves in the win.

“Every night is going to be different, and every night you need to find a different way to win,” Jarry said. “I think we’re just putting pucks on net and hoping one or two get past them, and that’s what happened tonight.”

Max Pacioretty, Reilly Smith and Paul Stastny scored for Vegas.

“There were some self-inflicted wounds for sure,” Golden Knights head coach Gerard Gallant said. “We’ve played really good hockey lately. Tonight, we made some early mistakes and it ended up in the back of the net.”

Evgeni Malkin, Brandon Tanev, Kris Letang, and Evgeni Malkin were the Pens’ strikers.

“A lot of guys blocked shots, sacrificed their body,” Letang said. “There’s a lot of credit to be given to a lot of guys. It was great to see a lot of sacrifice out there.”

Marc-Andre Fleury made 12 saves in the loss.

“I don’t think it’ll ever be normal,” Fleury said. “There’s not many guys left from my time there. It’s always nice to see these guys, but I’m still mad when I don’t get the win.”
