Vancouver score four in third period, down Sharks

In San Jose, the Vancouver Canucks overcome two one-goal deficits and defeated the Sharks, 5-2, on Wednesday night.

Jacob Markstrom made 38 saves as the Canucks struck for four goals in the third period.

“Good teams find a way,” Markstrom said. “We want to play a good 60 minutes. It’s a huge win.”

Tomas Hertl and Brent Burns scored for the Sharks.

“I think the game was there for us, we just didn’t get it done,” Sharks forward Barclay Goodrow said.

Quinn Hughes and Tanner Pearson picked up two points each in the win on a goal and assist each.

“We play for each other, we play for the guy next to you, and we’ve got to keep doing that,” Markstrom said.

Tyler Myers, Jake Virtanen  and Brandon Sutter also scored for the Canucks.

“We know we’ve got to play better. Sometimes it’s going to be ugly and that was definitely tonight,” Sutter said.
