Kleber’s Overtime Goal Lifts Stars Past Previously Undefeated Capitols; Three Different Players Score in Stampede Home Win

The Stampede got excellent netminding from Michael Chambre and goals from three different players on the way to earning a 3-2 home win over Tri-City Sunday afternoon.
Chris Pelosi’s third goal of the year, which came just a minute and forty seconds after the opening faceoff, gave the Stampede an early lead.
Defenseman Kazimier Sobieski’s rising shot beat Tri-City goaltender Ivan Zhigalov over the shoulder at 5:21 of the second and when Jaksen Panzer put in his own rebound at 8:31, Sioux Falls held a 3-0 lead. Storm forward Nolan Roed responded near the end of the period to cut the lead to 3-1.
Roed scored again at 1:46 of the third period, but the Stampede held on the rest of the way to claim the win.
Chambre stood solid in the net for Sioux Falls, stopping 31 of 33 shots to get his first win of the season. Zhigalov turned aside 37 shots for Tri-City.

The host Stars outshot the visiting Capitols 43-28 in claiming a 2-1 overtime win Sunday.
The two teams battled through two scoreless periods before finally finding some offense in the final 20 minutes of action.
Jared Mangan scored with a shot off the rush after taking a drop pass from Dashel Oliver at 1:33 to give the Storm a 1-0 lead. Then, with goaltender Carsen Musser on the bench for an extra attacker, Madison defenseman Austin Burnevik’s blast from the point at 18:18 evened the score and sent the game into overtime.
Defenseman Adam Kleber ended the game with a one-timer from the left circle at 4:36 with Lincoln on a power play.
Carsen Musser finished with 38 stops for the Capitols, who lost for the first time this season. Yan Shostak, who had 27 saves for the Storm, got the win
