CHICAGO, ILL. – The United States Hockey League (USHL) announced Tuesday the Forward, Defenseman and Goaltender of the Week for Week 5 of the 2019-20 season.
This is the first weekly honor for Green Bay Gamblers forward Jesse Tucker and Chicago Steel defenseman Owen Power and goaltender Victor Ostman. Tucker registered five points (3-2-5) in a 7-4 win Saturday night win while Power picked up a goal in each of his team’s wins last weekend and Ostman collected a pair of wins, allowing only one goal in more than 90 minutes played. The USHL is America’s only Tier I junior hockey league and continues to lead the world in the advancement of Division I college hockey athletes.
Forward: Jesse Tucker (Green Bay Gamblers)

Tucker led the Gamblers to their lone win last weekend with an explosive five-point night (3-2-5) in a thrilling 7-4 road win over the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. The hat trick was Tucker’s first of his USHL career and second multi-goal game (October 13, 2018). The Lake Superior State University commit has six goals and four assists through 11 games this season after registering 43 points (13-30-43) while appearing in all 62 games for Green Bay during the 2018-19 season, his rookie campaign. This is Tucker’s first Forward of the Week award, and the first won by a Green Bay forward since Jackson Perbix in January last season. Tucker is currently tied for 15th in the USHL with 10 points this season, which leads all Gamblers skaters.
Defenseman: Owen Power (Chicago Steel)

Power was named Defenseman of the Week after scoring a pair of goals in each of his team’s wins last weekend, including the 3rd period game-winning goal on the powerplay Saturday night, ensuring a 7-4 win over the Fargo Force. The University of Michigan commit leads all USHL defensemen with 12 points (3-9-12) in 10 games this season. Power has recorded at least one point in eight of 10 appearances this season, including an ongoing six-game point streak (3-6-9) and three of his four multi-point games this season. This season’s four multi-point games matches last season’s total through 58 games. The Mississauga, Ontario native registered 25 points (11-14-25) last season, which was tied for second among rookie blueliners throughout the USHL.
Goalie: Victor Ostman (Chicago Steel)
2 GP, 2-0-0-0, 0.65 GAA, .976 SV%
Ostman was named Goalie of the Week after picking up a pair of wins over the weekend, including a perfect 15-save relief performance on Saturday night. The Swedish netminder allowed just one goal on 47 shots against in more than 90 minutes of play in a pair of Steel wins. Ostman now has a 5-1-0-0 record with a 1.98 goals against average and .913 save percentage, which are first (wins), sixth (GAA) and ninth (SV%), respectively, in the USHL this season
